Flooding stations and roads are not new in our country. Although it is not something that we are proud of, we have seen our roads turning into pools of water and the train services being severely hit. Mumbaikars, have their spirit rolling to be out and about when the city floods. But maybe rather than cribbing about it, we should take some inspiration from people of Sweden. When one of their stations Uppsala got severely flooded the people came in with their swimming gear and had a great pool time. The pictures of the place are going viral and you can see the sheer joy on people's faces, all smiling and be having a pretty good time in the momentary pool.
Sweden got heavy rainfall over the weekend and their train station Uppsala was flooded with upto knee-high water. Naturally, the trains were delayed and the services went haywire. But with no complains, the people here made the most of the pool that was formed. People came in their shorts, carried scuba fins and floats, literally turning the station into a pool time.
Take a look at the pictures of people enjoying 'pool time' on their railway station.
The adults turned kids here
Its a pool day!
Floating fun!
Well, we have seen kids here making most of the flooding water but look at the adults here! It sure looks fun right? Maybe this gives an example as to why Sweden is also regarded as the happiest places to live in the world. The people instead of complaining and frowning made most of the moment. They all look so happy too. But soon the authorities came in and asked the people with floaters to leave as there were also concerns that the water would electrify. Probably that would have disappointed these guys more than the services being hit. The water was pumped out a day later and things were back to normal. Should we say, we have something to learn from here? Can you imagine taking out a pool gear and enjoying the flooding in different parts as a pool?
