While five of the reptiles were found and rescued by wildlife officials, two remain untraceable, much to the worry of the locals. Following the incident, neighbours are in fear of the reptile returning to the area and attacking them. The crocodiles were kept at a Steel Town area of Karachi. After the crocodiles escaped, police and officials of government departments were called to deal with the situation. The management of the farmhouse near the Steel Town filter plant reportedly told the police was quoted as saying, "All crocodiles were present at the farmhouse. They fled from the animal home after a wall of the premises collapsed during rainfall this morning." Reportedly, seven reptiles were kept at a farmhouse in the Steel Town area of Karachi. Police said that the crocodiles remain untraceable due to the water logging in the area. The condition of the crocodiles which were escaped is not to be known. There are also no reports on the huge reptile attacking any humans.
There have been multiple incidents crocodiles escaped encounter following floodings caused by rains. Earlier this month, a crocodile entered a residential complex in Thane's Vartak Nagar following heavy rains. As Maharashtra received inundated rains, many places in the state had drowned in water. Last year too, crocodiles had entered residential areas in Mulund, Mumbai. Residents in the Yogi Hills area in Mulund west had spotted the crocodile and informed the wildlife department. In recent times, there have been multiple incidents of crocodiles which are found in freshwater, attacking humans and other animals.
