Mumbai, India's financial capital witnessed an array of bombings on November 26, 2008 killing as many as 166 people. Heavily armed terrorists carried out attacks in the financial capital of the country upturning the government, system and making India question its security system. As we observe the 11th anniversary of the brutal attack, people have taken to social media paying tributes to the martyrs of the attack. On November 26, 2008, a group of 10 Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists reached the shores of Mumbai from Pakistan. They attacked the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSTM) railway station, Cama Hospital, Nariman House, Leopold Cafe, The Taj Mahal Palace,  Oberoi-Trident hotel, blew up a taxi and other public places killing innocent people. The siege ended on November 28 following which commandos of the National Security Guards (NSG) secured the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel.

Ajmal Amir Kasab and Ismail Khan carried out the attack at CST station, killing 58 people and injuring over 100. Kasab, was caught and was sentenced to death at Yerwada Central Jail in Pune in 2012. The Jamaat-ud-Dawah (JuD) mastermind Hafiz Saeed, was believed to have planned the attacks.
