In an unfortunate incident, a young fitness enthusiast from Mumbai suffered a cardiac arrest while he was working out at the gym on July 7th in Central Mumbai. The 22-year-old Adnan Menon is a resident of Crawford Market according to media reports and is fighting for his life because of the cardiac arrest he suffered from at the gym.
A video of Adnan Menon has gone viral wherein he can be seen collapsing while lifting weights. In a few seconds, he had collapsed while he was lifting a visibly heavyweight. According to media reports, Adnan's family confirmed that he was a fitness enthusiast and had been gymming for over five years.
The video that was caught on CCTV has become viral and is being forwarded on WhatsApp. The video is doing rounds with a message that Adnand is dead but reportedly he is in ICU.
According to reports by Ibtimes he was brought to South Mumbai's Wockhardt Hospital and his life was revived via CPR that the doctor performed on him. The CPR made him come back to life after 10-12 minutes after his heart stopped.
While the parents haven't made any complaints against the gym they have still reportedly blamed the gym for not having a doctor at the gym. If you are a fitness enthusiast too you must make sure that your gym is equipped with a doctor and a first aid kit at least because in cases like these, delay only leads to complications. Also, it is always advisable that you workout under expert supervision only. Lifting weights isn't only about strength, it is about posture and experience also that can only come along with an expert supervision.
