Team India has won the World title in the inaugural edition of the event by defeating their arch-rivals Pakistan by five runs at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg, South Africa. After that India was able to reach the finals on one more occasion in the 2014 World Cup but suffered a loss against the Sri Lankan side.
