Jur Sital, also known as Jud Sheetal, is a celebration that marks the start of the Maithili New Year, signifying the beginning of the Maithili calendar. It is observed in the Mithila region of Bihar, India, as well as in Nepal. Jur Sital 2024, or the Maithili New Year 2024, will be celebrated on April 14.
