The Durva Ashtami Vrat is observed mainly by women during Shukla Paksha Ashtami. The durva grass is highly revered in Hindu rituals, especially in the worship of Lord Ganesha. It is believed that the three blades of Durva represent purity, simplicity, and austerity.
