Chaturthi is observed twice every month, once during Krishna Paksha and one during Shukla Paksha. Vinayaka Chaturthi is observed during Shukla Paksha and Sankashti Chaturthi is observed during Krishna Paksha. On this auspicious day, people observe fast and offer prayers to Lord Ganesha.
