The Lalbaughcha Raja Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal, the committee organising the entire pandal was founded in 1934. There is quite a history behind the setting up of this Ganesh Idol as the local fisherman and vendor community vowed to set up a pandal if their wish of an open market in Lalbaug is fulfilled.
