Gaurav's suicide came to light when his sister found him hanging. Although he was rushed to a nearby hospital, Gaurav was declared dead. After the post-mortem, Gaurav's family placed his body at the Mahila police station and staged a protest. They demanded suspension of inspector Kaushalya Chouhan.
