Vestiville Festival in Belgium becomes Europe's very own Fyre Festival after its disastrous planning forced artists to opt out. It soon followed up with people leaving and the government getting involved in the matters after safety issues were brought up. People were left disappointed after buying tickets to the festival, only to be stranded in empty grounds. ASAP Rocky and many huge artists were set to perform in the event and decided to back out at the last minute. As Japan Resumes With Commercial Whaling, Twitter Echoes #BoycottJapan With Anger.
A three-day event was set to take place in Lommel in the Belgian province. It was supposed to be a music festival over the weekend, following the trend of summer music festivals like Coachella. Vestiville was all set with an impressive lineup of some of the biggest names in the music industry today, such as ASAP Rocky, Migos, Cardi B, Meek Mill and Future but it took an unexpected turn on June 28, when artists started dropping out on the opening day, itself. ASAP Rocky was the first to step out and tweet, “I won’t be performing today due to security and infrastructure concerns which relate to the production of the show”. The Official Account of the Festival Followed and Tweeted the Safety of Public and Artist Could Not Be Guaranteed.
Today at 5:00 PM the mayor of Lommel decided to not let Vestiville start. After consultation with the security services and ASAP Rocky’s security officer, it was decided that the safety of the artist and the public could not be guaranteed.

After discovering these safety issues, the mayor of Lommel decided to cancel the event, after a trip with the organisers and production crew. Bob Nijs, Mayor of Lommel, told the BBC, "In the evening when we came back we saw they had worked hard, but there were still problems. There were no emergency exits, the stages were not safe and they only had about 30 security guards. It was a difficult decision to make, but I didn't want to be the mayor to say, 'sorry, your son or your daughter died at this festival’ ”. The festival has talked about refunds on their twitter but they haven’t been initiated yet.
