If you were planning to travel to The United States, then this may be just the right time to book your tickets. Your travel will get very cheap with the introduction of Iceland's budget transatlantic airline Wow Air in India. The airline launched its services from Delhi to multiple destinations in North America and Europe. As an introductory offer, the airline is offering one-way Delhi-New York at a basic fare of Rs 13,499 to the Keflavik airport in Iceland's capital and from there to other destinations in North America and Europe. This fare includes all taxes but excludes meal and check-in baggage. These charges will be added on separately.

"While the WOW basic introductory fare will be priced at Rs 13,499 with taxes, the 'WOW premium' fares at the other end will be priced from Rs 46,599 onwards including taxes," the airline's founder and chief executive officer Skull Mogensen said. There are two other two fare options- 'WOW plus' and 'WOW comfy'. The airline will be flying an Airbus A330 Neo to India and operate five days a week. WOW Air is currently serving to 39 destinations across Europe and North America, including London, Paris, New York, Toronto, Baltimore, San Francisco and Chicago. There will be a stopover at Reykjavik and then passengers will take a WOW flight to the US.

The airline's website mentions, the stopover will be of 2 hours and the entire journey to the United States will take about 20 hours. The airline will offer daily services and also operate from other Indian destinations soon. Iceland is on the regular route to the US and with this flight, the halt at Reykjavik will be the shortest one yet. The CEO said he is sure about the success of the airlines in India.

There are frequent Indian travellers to North America and WOW air will just offer them more choice, a more budget-friendly one. 80% of these travellers take a flight with a stopover, informed Mogensen. Although he did not deny the price rise in future he assured that it will not be 3 to 5 times higher. The increased demand has also raised the fares. The website showed the basic fare at Rs. 24,999 in December.
