Titanic, the unsinkable ship that sank on its maiden voyage in 1912 has led inspirations to many projects to build a replica. The ship inspired many crazes and made the world wild about the naval tragedy. As the RMS Titanic was meant to be ‘unsinkable’, the replica Titanic II is an idea that is unkillable. Yes, the project—Titanic II, the brainchild of the Australian mining magnate Clive Palmer will start up again and is slated to hit the seas in 2022. It will follow the exact route as its predecessor. Autistic Boy Builds World's Largest Lego Titanic Replica.

People are fond of reliving historical moments. The success of James Cameron’s 1997 film about the unsinkable ship gave rise to projects such as Titanic II. Palmer found the Blue Star Line in respect to the original ship’s owner the White Star Line. He announced his idea in 2012 and the 385 million euros project was meant to be finished in 2016. However, the work stopped in 2015 when one of Palmer’s company was entangled on a financial dispute with Chinese business. As per the latest news, on the 110th anniversary of the original RMS Titanic, the replica will be completed. Titanic Tragedy: Twitterati Remembers the Tragic Shipwreck on its 106th Anniversary.

Titanic II aims to hold approximately 2,400 passengers and 900 crew members. It will travel from Dubai to Southampton, before making the journey across the Atlantic, the same trip the original took over 100 years ago. Palmer in his statement said as quoted by MSN, “The ship will follow the original journey, carrying passengers from Southampton to New York. But she will also circumnavigate the globe, inspiring and enchanting people while attracting unrivaled attention, intrigue and mystery in every port she visits.”

This time, it is speculated to carry a better precautionary measure. Titanic II will be outfitted with plenty of lifeboats along with modern navigation and safety technology. The ship will also be diesel instead of coal powered, and the four iconic smoke stacks will remain. There will be first, second and third-class tickets for sale, just like the original.
