Talking about the picture Chu was quoted to NatGeo, "It felt so harmonious. The whole land was covered by white, cold snow, and the blue tint at dusk made it even cooler. But the light from the windows, street lights and the family of three made the world warm again. I love the contrast and mood of this scene. I was busy taking continuous pictures at that time, trying to capture the best moment." He was on a personal three-month, personal photo project to showcase the life in Greenland when he made this winning photograph. Drone Awards 2018: 'Above the Polar Bear' & Other Winning Photographs will Leave You Mesmerised.

Chu had submitted his photograph in the 'Cities' category. He not only won the first prize in that category but even the overall grand prize. The white snowy cover and the tranquil beauty with a family making their way out is a perfectly captured moment. The coloured houses make for a lovely contrast against the white snowscape. The competition has entries in three different categories of Nature, Cities and People. Huaifeng Li won the prize for the People category. And Tamara Blazquez Haik scored the first place in the Nature category.
