On Friday, private cruise ferry services between Hazira Port in Surat and Bandra-Worli Sea Link in Mumbai were flagged off from Essar Ports jetty terminal. Operated by SSR Marine Services this Mumbai Maiden Cruise Ship will be functional every week. Residents of Mumbai may have travelled over the Sea Link, but this cruise will give you a chance to ride under it. The Essar Bulk Terminal Ltd (EBTL), a part of the Essar Ports helped to complete the work on the Passenger Ferry Terminal. In future, they will also expand the ferry services on other routes from Hazira terminal. The Phase I concentrates on passengers between Hazira Port in Surat and Bandra-Worli Sea Link in Mumbai and they plan to extend it to other coastal locations in Gujarat too. The cruise services are a way to reduce road congestion along with tackling air pollution. Date and Timings

The Mumbai Maiden Cruise passenger ferry will run on Thursdays from Mumbai and Fridays from Surat. It will start every Thursday from Bandra-Worli Sea Link at 5 pm. The cruise will reach Surat the next day at 9 am. From Hazira, the cruise will depart on Friday around 5 pm and reach in Mumbai the next day (Saturday) around 9 am. This is for the starting days, depending on the demand, the ferry services will be increased.

Ticket Prices

The passenger ferry is said to have a capacity of 200-250 passengers. The approximate price range is said to be between Rs 3,000 to Rs 5,000 depending on the facilities you are opting for.

Facilities

The cruise is equipped with over 20 rooms which can accommodate over 250 passengers. As per reports, the cruise also has an open-deck lounge which will offer a combination of luxury and leisure to the passengers.
