Mumbai Cha Raja History
Mumbaicha Raja is more popularly known as Ganesh Galli cha Raja. One of the oldest pandals to organise the festival, it was established in the year 1928. It is said that this was the mandal which first popularised the culture of bringing in large glorious idols of Lord Ganesha for the festivities. This idol is almost 22-feet high! Mumbai Cha Raja Theme
Every year there is a different decoration and theme to the celebrations. Last year, the idol was in the form of Vishwakarma Avatar. This year’s glimpse has not yet revealed. So it remains to be seen which type of idol will the organisers will bring in. Interestingly, it also marks the 96th year of their celebrations so there will be equal pomp and show. Some speculate the decoration theme will be around the historic Raigad fort.

How to Reach Mumbai Cha Raja?
Mumbaicha Raja is located next to Lalbaugh cha Raja, so you can visit both the famous pandals in the city and pay your respects. But be assured that the lanes are very crowded and it is best to use public transport to get here.
By Train: The nearest stations to reach here are Byculla and Currey Road on the Central line and Lower Parel on the Western Line. You can get down at these stations and follow the route via Google Maps, it is just about 1 km distance.
By Road: There are regular BEST buses which ply on the route to Lalbaug. You can take the buses from outside Dadar or Parel station.
You will mostly have to walk some distance to reach till the pandals because the roads are pretty crowded during this festive season.
