Hello Kitty, the pink and white cartoon cat character has been a beloved figure for many children growing up. Now Japanese have adopted it on their bullet trains with pink and white themed trains have been launched in the country. The special launched bullet trains will run for the next three months between Osaka and Fukuoka. The West Japan Railway firm unveiled the shinkasen (train) and they hope the famous local export will boost tourism.

The Hello Kitty character adorns on every seat cover. The trains have a pink flooring with kitty's bows and the seats are in purple colour. According to a news report, "One car will feature a "life-sized Hello Kitty doll" - the character is "five apples" tall, according to creator Sanrio -- so fans can take selfies, according to West Japan Railway spokesman. There will be another car which will have no passenger seats but it will provide regional specialities. There will be a selection of goods and foods. All of these provisions are made to boost the local economy with regional goods made available.

Hello Kitty was a character created in Yuko Shimizu in 1974 and it became extremely popular around the world. The character adorning goodies from stationaries to clothes were available in the market. It was even there on aeroplanes to toilet papers. The brand in itself is an industry worth billions of years. Now Japan's bullet trains joining in, it might effectively boost the tourism industry.
