Mumbai, September 25: From October this year, Mumbaikars will be able to reach Pune in just 35 minutes. According to a Times of India report, American helicopter taxi service BLADE is launching its India operations with fly-by-the-seat chopper services between the two cities. The services will be available six days a week, from Monday to Saturday.

BLADE India will also be offering heli-taxis between Mumbai to Shirdi. In Mumbai, flights will take off from the Mahalaxmi Racecourse helipad. In Pune, they will operate from Mundhwa, and in Shirdi from Chaitanyapur, Kopargaon. The prices have still not been revealed, however Amit Dutta, Managing Director, BLADE India, as told to the newspaper that the prices will be “dynamic”. The best part of the service is that they operate on a seat basis, and there is no need to book the entire aircraft. In addition to this, even if they aren't full, they will still continue to fly because they are scheduled flights. The idea is to reduce the travel time and also to provide a great experience to the flyers. The services will begin in metropolitan cities and in congested places to ease the hassles of the commuters. In order to book the services, customers will have to call the customer helpline number or log on to the company website.
