No matter how much digitized the education system gets, having teachers around has its own set of pros that is unique and cannot be replaced by machines. Teachers' Day celebrated every year on 5th of September is a token of gratitude to those special human beings that have impacted a large part of our lives. As kids and college students we spent a big part of our day in the learning institutions that helped us reach where we are now and teachers were had a great influence on how our lives are shaped today. While some of their contributions to our are quite apparent like our knowledge, some of these underlying contributions do not get appreciated as much as they should. 1. Our passion- Believe it or not, many of us have our passions derived from our teachers. The time when were little and we heard our teachers talk about so many hobbies and things to do, and also subjects that they taught so well became our passion in terms of reading or replicating it. And some of us simply wanted to be teachers when we grew up just because of one such teacher who influenced us a bit more than others.

2. Our opinions- While I will agree that it takes a lot of things to shape our opinions, I won't disagree that teachers contribute to that too. While teachers usually had neutral opinions on subjects, we learned the art to have neutral opinions too.

3. The way of talking- Agree or not, there has to be one such teacher whom you imitate even until now because of the awesome orator he/she was? The pronunciations, the sentence formation, there is a lot about our speech that we learned from our teachers.

4. Discipline- Although you may say that the discipline taught bu our teachers don't go unnoticed, but the part about discipline that goes unnoticed is all the times we thought our teachers were harsh on us when they actually weren't. They were just instilling the importance of duty/karma in us.

5. Perception- The way we perceive things is highly influenced by our teachers. Our teachers taught us what is righteousness and what is the right thing to do as a citizen and in simple ways like these, they shaped our perception of whether to see things as our duties or as punishments.

These points are just a drop in the ocean, there are umpteen ways our teachers influence our lives. They have taught us more than what was there in the books. What do you think?
