The social media battle between Felix "PewDiePie" Kjellberg and T-Series continues as they race to beat each other on YouTube for most subscribers. And perhaps PewDiePie might have an upper hand in this match as he managed to get a nice Super Bowl spot without having to put in a lot of money in advertisements.
For the same, he received support from another popular YouTube creator, Jimmy Donaldson (MrBeast). At the 2019 Super Bowl game that took place last weekend, Donaldson appeared at the game with his friends as they all wore T-shirts that said, "Subscribe to PewDiePie". The unique internet campaign was duly noted by the viewers as ESPN showed the message several times on the screen and even shared it on their official account.
On the same, Jimmy Donaldson tweeted, "WE MADE IT ON THE SUPER BOWL" along with another tweet that said, "We bought seats right behind the field goal, every kick on the end zone with rams paint will have our sub 2 Pewdiepie shirts." With this kind of exposure, PewDiePie's channel subscription is sure to soar.
Currently, PewDiePie has a close subscription of about 83.9 million while T-Series stands on 83.8 million. Jimmy enjoys a command of about 14.5 million followers and is often seen promoting PewDiePie's channels on his social media platforms. He reportedly bought radio ads and billboards to promote the Swedish gamer. Donaldson also carried out a 12-hour live streaming stunt so as to gain online traction.
Many other famous YouTubers have also rallied for PewDiePie's channel. Logan Paul offered to donate to charity if his followers also subscribed to PewDiePie's channel. It's quite evident that T-Series is lagging very closely in this match. Will it be able to surpass PewDiePie's channel? Well, we'll get to see soon.
