A Quick Recap of Top-10 in Miss Universe 2019
Vartika had failed to bag a spot when five finalists from Africa and Asia-Pacific were announced. But the girl made it as one of the five wildcard contestants. It was quite a sigh of relief for the 1.3 billion Indians cheering for their beauty queen. However, she could not make it beyond the top 20.
A similar thing of sorts happened with Miss Philippines, Gazini Ganados who enjoyed a lot of fan followed as she was touted to be the successor of Catriona Gray, reigning Miss Universe and a Filipino-Australian model. But with the ouster of Gazini, it ended the Top-10 streak of the Philippines in Miss Universe. The Philippines has consistently made it to the Miss Universe Top 10 – at the very least – since 2010, with the past decade highlighted by the title wins of Pia Wurtzbach (2015) and Catriona Gray (2018).
