Former XXX-industry queen Mia Khalifa has always been everybody's favourite. Be it times when she ruled porn websites such as PornHub.com and NaughtyAmerica.com to the time she became a sports presenter. The ex-pornstar who won the world of sexy videos recently opened up in a BBC's HARDtalk video and spoke about her journey to adult films. She explained how she went rebellious, wanting to do something 'so out of bounds' and 'so out of character'. Mia Khalifa's famous and controversial hijab scene was also discussed in the interview with Stephen Sackur. To which, however, she chose not to answer. She also spoke about it was very difficult for her to deal with her parents when she decided to head to the porn industry. In the video, the former answered the interviewer's question about her family being aware of when she got into the porn industry. Khalifa replied to the question about her parents by saying, "No. And they disowned me when they found out. I felt completely alienated by the world, my family, and the people around me. Especially after I quit, when I was still alone, even though I left. And I just realised some mistakes aren't forgivable. But time heals all wounds, and things are getting better now." With seemingly stable foundations in life, Khalifa said it wasn't just an urge to rebel that led her into porn but also a lack of self-esteem. She said: "I don't think low self-esteem discriminates against anyone. It doesn't matter if you come from a great family or if you come from a not-so-great background. I struggled my entire childhood with weight, and I never felt attractive or worthy of male attention. Suddenly my first year of college, I started losing all this weight from making small changes, and by the time I graduated, I was ready to make a bigger difference. After feeling what it was like - that validation and the compliments for the first time - I did not want that to go away."
