RELATIONSHIP QUERY OF THE DAY: Is Social Media PDA Really Important?

Before we even knew of the term ‘social media’, there existed a world filled with people who loved each other and were truly committed to each other. They didn’t feel the need to proclaim it to the world that they were in love. Just the feeling of being in love was enough. However, today we come across so many people whose primary concern would be “Why isn’t he ‘in a relationship’ with me on Facebook?” Now, we aren’t completely dismissing the fact that it has become mandatory to post it on social media to "prove" how committed you are to your partner. But it’s also true that you and your boyfriend can be in a happy relationship without letting the whole world know about it.

Whether it’s on social media or otherwise, PDA of all sorts is great. But what if one of them isn’t comfortable of public display of affection on the internet? Well, that doesn’t mean that your bae loves you any less. On one hand, it’s easy to quickly resent your boyfriend because he isn’t sharing photos of you on social media. But on the other, he’s not denying that he doesn’t want to accept you in front of his friends. He’s been very clear about how he doesn’t mind introducing you to his friends and that tells you what sort of a person he is. As a partner, as a girlfriend, you should be able to respect his privacy rather than overthinking about why isn’t he indulging in social media PDA. Give him some time and maybe eventually he’d change his mind and see things from your perspective you, like you’d be doing by respecting his decision.
