Suites with velvet beds, a swimming pool, separate lounge area, a spa and saloon with exotic perfumes and a stocked bar exude such luxury, right? But all you can do is just view and not experience. Because these luxurious facilities are all for your pet dog. India has recently opened its first luxury pet dog hotel named Critterati in Gurugram and it is mind-blowing! In fact, by giving such high-quality facilities for your pets, Critterati becomes the first hotel in South Asia to do so.

Owners can send their pet for a day trip or even a night stay. Each room here has a soft velvet bed, with a TV set in each room. Some of the rooms here have an attached private balcony area as well where your pet can wander about. They provide spa services for your pooches too. Along with day-care and night boarding, they have a 24-hour medical care facility and a shop selling pet food and accessories. The owners can keep a watch on their pets with the help of live cameras that have been installed in the rooms. So be rest assured that your pet is going to have a service, class-apart! Those few people who have visited the hotel were jealous of this creation. The founder Deepak Chawla said, “After a tour of the hotel, people tell us that they would like to be born a dog in their next birth.”

Coming to the various services, there is a play area, regular swimming sessions, a separate area for bathing, massage and grooming center. They also have a dog café which sells non-alcoholic beer specially brought in from Belgium. Name it, Critterati has it! The hotel will soon start for cats too. Right now it focuses only on dogs.

In a country where stray dogs become friends of the animal lovers, investing in a hotel like this is a big risk. But Chawla reasons, “I want to redefine the pet culture in India. The United States has such hotels, but there are none in Asia or Europe.” They offer annual members starting at Rs. 23,999 depending upon the size of your pet. The night boarding charges are close to Rs. 1500 per night. The entire staff is well-trained and takes care of your pet’s needs well. We are sure even you feel like living a dog’s life after looking at this luxury space!
