Hyderabad, August 10: The Swedish furniture giant IKEA has finally entered India, by opening its first store in Hyderabad. The huge excitement among the consumers, led to a stampede-like situation as they gathered to enter the outlet on the first day. The craze of laying their hands and purchasing products available at cheap rates led to the huge euphoria among the consumers. According to reports, the showroom displayed some 7,500 products, out of which 1,000 products are under less than Rs 200 a piece.

IKEA was earlier supposed to open the store in July, but it got postponed because the company needed more time to fulfill quality commitments. According to a previous statement, IKEA Retail India CEO Peter Betzel said, "IKEA Retail India decided to move the date as it needs some more time to live up to its expected quality commitments towards customers and co-workers." IKEA has plans to make it big in the digital space by competing with the other players like Pepper Fry and Urban Ladder.
