Recently a picture of Amazon's CEO Jeff Bezos is doing the rounds on the internet and for all the right reasons. A pyjama-clad Jeff Bezos showed up at a board meeting and shared a picture of himself with a powerful message. While you and I will think twice before showing up to a meeting in this exclusively casual attire, however, when the CEO chooses to show up in pyjamas to the board meeting there has to be a reason for it. Jeff wore a dark blue night-suit and looked like he has walked into the meeting straight out of bed.
However, he mentioned the reason behind this act of him. Childhood Cancer Survivors May Experience Sleep Problems as Adults, Says Study
Here's what he said- 'Why am I wearing pajamas to an Amazon board meeting? September is Childhood Cancer Awareness month and each year Amazon partners with @ACCOrg to raise awareness of childhood cancer – second leading cause of death for kids in the U.S. between ages 4 and 14. Today, Amazonians across the globe show their support by wearing their pajamas to work – also known as #PJammin. Another way we’re raising awareness is through our special #GoGold boxes – you may receive one during September. Never have I been more comfortable at an Amazon board meeting!'

Why Is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month Celebrated?
In the US September is celebrated as the month of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. American Childhood Cancer Organisation also called the Acco.org describes it as, 'Families, caregivers, charities and research groups across the United States observe September as Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. In the U.S., 15,780 children under the age of 21 are diagnosed with cancer every year; approximately 1/4 of them will not survive the disease. A diagnosis turns the lives of the entire family upside down. The objective of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month is to put a spotlight on the types of cancer that largely affect children, survivorship issues, and – importantly – to help raise funds for research and family support.'
ACCO is an organization that unites childhood cancer advocates all across the nation and highlights the stories through their Gold Ribbon Heroes Program. September is observed as a month to commit to raising childhood cancer awareness all year.
