Carolyne from Australia always wanted to be a mother but couldn’t find the right opportunity or partner to bring a child into this world. She was in her 50s and single, when she finally tried to give it a shot at being a mother. She didn’t let the number get in the way of her dream of enjoying the joys of motherhood. In her 30s while still being married she had trouble conceiving. She decided to opt for IVF but her marriage was falling apart. She didn’t want to bring a child into an unhappy marriage and finally got divorced at the age 40. Working as a receptionist in the hospitality industry for major of her years, she had had a life full of adventure and travelled extensively. But no travel filled the hole in her life of not having a child.

At the age 57, Carolyne finally decided to take the leap of faith and considered for IVF treatments in Australia. But no hospital specialised in treating elderly women with IVF process. The process was also complicated in Australia. She then started looking for clinics abroad that treated older women with fertility issues. The two countries that she discovered who offered IVF for older women were Northern Cyprus and India. She had always wanted to visit India and wanted to see the Taj Mahal. Her ex-husband was from Bangladesh which was part of the reason that she chose an Indian egg donor and a Caucasion sperm donor. She contacted a clinic in New Delhi and travelled all by herself. Researching online she had read a lot of praises for Dr Rita Bakshi.

On her arrival in India and meeting Dr Bakshi, she was explained the entire procedure. The embryos would be grown in the clinic for five days to the blastocyst stage and then would be transferred to Carolyne’s uterus. To prepare her body, Carolyne was on pills that would thicken the lining of the uterus. Dr Bakshi’s reassurance and positivity gave Carolyne hope that she would soon be a mother. Three blastocysts were transferred in her uterus and Dr Bakshi told her that she might have triplets. But Carolyne just wanted one healthy child. To boost the chances three blastocysts were implanted in her uterus. A week later, Carolyne took a pregnancy test and was elated when she found out that she was pregnant.

Carolyne delivered at 37 weeks through C-section and her precious little boy who she decided to name Javed, after the famous Indian poet was born. Javed is now three months old and is a healthy and happy baby. Longevity runs in her family and Carolyne hopes to be around Javed for a long time to come. She also plans to bring Javed to India. Right now, she’s happy as a single mum but is certainly hopeful that if the right man comes along she would happily share her life’s truly greatest adventure.
