Aiden Adkins, from Carson City, Michigan, was making a wooden gift for his girlfriend and while he was at it, he met with an accident that caused his thumb. While the man suffered the mishap in April while making a gift out of wood, he has now received a replacement. The doctors replaced his thumb with one of his toes which now also makes a minor movement.  Although, his family, cannot find the missing thumb in his garage, he was without a thumb for four months before deciding to go for a replacement. Surgeons cut off his left index toe and use create a new thumb for him. When the accident took place he, initially that it was a piece of a wood that may have chipped off and fly across the room only to realise in a bit that it was actually his thumb, according to Daily Mail.

After he was rushed to the hospital, without the missing thumb, the doctors were forced to sew up Adkins' hand. However, after a few months, Adkin said yes to his toe being used to replace his thumb. In a Facebook post, he shared videos and pictures of his thumb functioning well and wrote: "Doing great everything is looking perfect! I can finally give a thumbs up again!! Doctors are loving how it looks!! I got the cast off of my foot and a new one for my hand. I go back in a couple weeks to get stitches removed and pin pulled out of my thumb!"

A week later, when he got the casts off his foot and hand, Adkins was ecstatic. Even his friends and family are delighted. One of his family members wrote on Facebook that, "His doctor said today at the 3 1/2 month mark he is 6 months ahead of where patients are usually at for this point. He has never had a patient have as much movement that Aiden has at this point. The power of prayer!!"
