The G-spot, the mythical erogenous zone on the human body capable of causing earth-shattering orgasms, was usually spoken of in the female context, leaving the menfolk feel left out and feeling a little envious. Why would men need a G-spot when the male body is one big erogenous zone, right? But all that changed when the wonders of the prostate was discovered. It turns out there was indeed such a male G-spot and it also has its own name – P-spot, named after the prostate. Experts say that stimulating and massaging the area during sex enhances sexual pleasure and leads to mind-blowing orgasms. But enough about the prostate. We are here to talk about the perineum, a little-known part of the human anatomy, which has been fast gaining a reputation as powerful erogenous zone.

So why does the perineum figure in any discussion about male pleasure? It’s because massaging the area improves blood flow to the prostate gland and even stimulates the P-spot. The pleasure multiplies when the prostate stimulated from the inside and the perineum rubbed from the outside. But sadly, the odd and somewhat inaccessible location of the perineum deprives men of the amazing pleasure it is capable of providing.

Where is the Perineum Located?

The perineum is situated between the anus and the vulva in females and between the anus and the scrotum in males. But in women, it’s located a little higher in the genital area. The nerve-rich area is capable of producing intense pleasurable sensations, if it’s touched or stimulated the right way. The lucky few who had their perineum stimulate admit that it’s the third-most erogenous area after the penis and the testicles. But since the area is situated in a hard-to-locate place on the human anatomy, it remains neglected during sex.

Spirituality buffs may be pleased to know that the perineum is also situated close to the root chakra or the first chakra, also known as the mool chakra, where all the sexual energy is stored. Here are two diagrams to help you find the perineum:

How to Stimulate the Perineum

Both men and women can benefit from stimulating the perineum and the area can be massaged internally and externally.

Internal stimulation

Men: To stimulate the perineum from the inside, insert two fingers or a prostate massager into the rectum and look for rope-like nerves. Gently, massage the area in up-down or circular motions. To externally stimulate it, press the fingers gently on the perineum and massage it lightly. You can vary the pressure as per your liking.

Women: Insert two lubricated fingers inside the vagina 3-4cms inside and apply pressure towards the anus. Keep applying pressure till you feel a pleasurable sensation. To externally stimulate the area, just run your fingers along the perineum and rotate in a clock-wise motion.

Not everyone would enjoy the same kind of movements or pressure on the perineum. Some may find the area ticklish, since it has so many nerve endings. So gauge your partner’s reaction before you increase the pressure or the speed. Stop if you find them feeling uncomfortable.
