Shoe Bites
The main problem everyone faces in monsoon from the silicon shoes and flip flops is shoe bites. Everyone struggles with balancing in the wet streets while dealing with painful shoe bites. If you struggle with these, try putting a bandage on your wound or the shoe bite spot. This will stop the material from coming in direct contact with your skin. If the rain makes it difficult for the bandage to stick to your skin, try stuffing the problem area with some cotton. Just discard and replace with a fresh one, once you’ve reached your destination. Make sure to lather a good amount of petroleum jelly and anti-fungal ointment on your wound before bed.
Infections
Try to wash your feet with clean water as much as possible. If you wear footwear that exposes your feet, make sure to rub some antiseptic solution on your feet before bed. Pour a cap full of the same antiseptic solution in your bath water every day. Same goes for any part exposed to dirty water.
Leg Pain from Wet Pants
We all know the pain when the bottom of our pants gets wet from the rain and makes our legs hurt all day. For this, skip pants with thick materials like denim. Opt for skirts or dresses. If you’re not as comfortable with them, wear leggings or cotton pants for the season. Soak your feet in warm water for around 10 minutes when you get home.
Lice
Let’s not even talk about how scary lice is. We know the fear of getting in public transport in monsoons and constantly looking around to spot danger. Try to cover your hair when you're in a compact public transport vehicle. If your hair got wet while travelling, open your hair the moment you get to your destination and let it dry. Wet hair is the perfect breeding ground for lice.
Hope we could help you with these tried and tested hacks in monsoon. Monsoon is a tough one to tackle, but it's not as agonizing as it gets credit for. Use these hacks to take control of these very common monsoon struggles faced by almost every one of us.
