What are Soy Products and Why are They Bad for Males?

Soy products are plant-based,  consumed whole or in the form of milk, tofu, miso, bean curd, etc. As these products contain a high amount of isoflavones, which are increasing the estrogen (female hormones) levels in the body, men should be wary of consuming them and limit eating soy.

The increase in estrogen level not only may lead to the development of man boobs, but also other adverse effects like a decrease in sex drive and erectile dysfunction.

However, it must also be noted that soy protein is almost available in small quantities in every packaged product available. If you pick up a packet of biscuit or even few protein supplement powder packets, you will find soy protein in the ingredient list.

But soy is not the only reason why men develop flabby chest; there are many other factors associated with it which we will explore below.

What all you should know about soy proteins and male boobs?

We must know that men should limit estrogen levels in their body to keep their testosterone at a high level. Eating soy protein should be restricted since they contain a high amount of phytoestrogens. Therefore, men who are into bodybuilding should opt for other protein supplements like pure whey. Men should limit their consumption to just than 25 gm of soy protein from these foods.

Average sedentary men should consume around 60 gm of protein every day, the best way to calculate your protein intake is by multiplying 0.8 with your current body weight. E.g., if you weigh 70 kg, then you should take a minimum of 70 x 0.8=56 gm of protein every day. Out of which you should restrict soy protein to not more than 25 gm.

You should also note that male boobs not only develop by consumption of soy products, the male breast tissue also gets enlarged due to obesity and an unhealthy diet.
