According to media reports by Mirror, 42-year-old Samantha Smith was battling with bowel cancer for a year and wished to get married to her love after she knew that she wouldn't live long. The couple's family, friends and even nursing staff arranged for their nuptials hastily. They found a registrar, rings, wedding dress, cake and decorations for the ceremony soon after they were told that she had just a few days to live. The couple, from Penicuik, Midlothian were super happy after exchanging their vows. However, the happiness didn't last long. In less than two weeks after the wedding, Samantha died on Sunday morning.
Mark, 44, said to mirror.co.uk, “We knew time was running out and getting married was important to us both. We decided at 11 am and said our vows at 7.15pm that night. “I just wish we had more time together. I’ve got to battle on for the sake of the kids, and they are keeping me going at the moment. Unfortunately, Samantha never got to spend a lot of time with the kids towards the end. I’m glad they were at the wedding, and that will always be something they can cherish,' he further explained to Mirror.
