A study on weight-loss is being conducted by four universities in the United States and they need someone who can eat avocados every day for six months. The study will be conducted by researchers from Loma Linda University, Penn State, Tufts University and the University of California, Los Angeles. They are looking for 1,000 participants to take part in the six-month trial. So if you think you are the right person, put your avocado obsession to use and earn money!

While avocados contain the highest fat content of any fruit, the researchers believe that there are other properties which will balance the equilibrium. The study has certain requirements for its participants. Here are they:

  • You have to be minimum 25 years old
  • You should be willing to eat one avocado every day for six months or just two avocados per month for the same period
  • Men must measure a minimum of 40 inches around the waist
  • Women must measure a minimum of 35 inches around the waist
  • Those pregnant or breastfeeding can't participate

Participants will be assigned to one of the two groups: a test group or control group, according to the university's website.

Those in the test group will be required to eat one avocado every throughout six months. Participants of the control group will eat not more than two avocados every month during the study. All participants are required to meet with a dietitian once a month. Members will also receive a free MRI and a health screening at Loma Linda. Dr Sabaté added saying, "For the last 20 years, we have been doing dietary intervention studies on plant-based foods and nuts. We are rigorous in our selection of projects." After the data has been collected, Wake Forest University will analyse the information and deliver the final results, said Loma Linda University.
