A heart from a private hospital, Bangalore was transported on 16th September 2018 for transplant to a patient at Fortis Hospitals, Bannerghatta road. A potential organ alert was received by the team at Fortis Hospitals at 1 AM-midnight. A team of harvesting doctors were sent to the hospital for assessment of the organ. Post preliminary assessment, the organ was harvested at 4.45 AM by Dr.Vivek Jawali, Chief Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgeon, Chairman, Department of Cardiovascular Sciences, Fortis Hospitals, Bangalore and Dr Priyank Bhatt, Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgeon, Fortis Hospitals.
