Each state in this country has its dedicated cuisine, which makes it even more special. Talking of Rajasthani cuisine, its earliest influence is from war-like lifestyle and a combination of ingredients that were available in the dry, arid region. Rajasthan is popularly known for its snacks and as much as other states try to imitate them, the authencity can be experienced only with the origin state. While the wedding festivities of Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas go on in full swing, we hope the guests are treated to these special items from the Rajasthani cuisine.

Pyaaz Kachori

As we have pakoras in some parts of the country, Rajasthani kachoris ae very famous. These are very different from the smaller kachoris which we usually get in shops. Pyaaz Kachoris are big in size and have a puffy texture with onion and potatoes mixture inside. It is mildly spicy and best enjoyed with savoury tamarind chutney.

Gatte ki Sabzi

Since vegetables were not easily available in the desert land, this vegetable gravy is made with gram flour. Dumplings are made of gram flour and steamed and fried and served into a curry later. It is a very popular sabzi made here. Accompanied by Bajra roti, it makes for a very good combination in Rajasthani cuisine.

Dal Baati Churma

The food menu would be incomplete without including the signature dish from the state. Dal Baati Churma is a classic dish from the state. Baati refers to small doughballs made with lentils. They are eaten with panchmel Dal which is a mixture of five lentils. The dish has been a part of the Mughal courts even, thus gaining more and more popularity. There is a peculiar way of eating them. The baati is dipped in ghee and eaten with daal.

Rajasthani Kadhi

Kadhi is an Indian preperation made in different states in the country. The Rajasthani Kadhi is made with gram flour and a spicier version. A typical characteristic is, it includes pakodas giving it a distinct flavour.

Ghevar

Last but not the least, desserts are very important after a good heavy meal. Ghevar is a very popular dessert originally from the city of Jaipur. Made with flour, ghee, sugar syrup there are several varieties in Ghevar depending upon the ingredients used. It is topped with dry fruits to give an additional taste. Any special occassion is incomplete without having Ghevar.

The Rajasthani cuisine is much more diverse and includes many more items but these are the main ones which should be a part of the wedding menu. If the guests at Priyanka Chopra- Nick Jonas wedding want to get a flavour of the place, then the above items have to be included in the food menu.
