A travel writer, Stanton Delaplane, is responsible for bringing Irish Coffee recipe to the United States from Ireland. In the year 1942 when he had travelled to Shannon Airport in southwest Ireland along with other travellers headed to a restaurant after a tiring journey. The chef of that restaurant, Joe Sheridan, served them with hot coffee, spiked with whiskey and topped with whipped cream to make them feel warm and cosy. The travellers on being served asked whether it is Brazillian coffee, the chef responded it was Irish coffee.
