We all scream for ice-cream!! As a kid or a grownup, we all enjoy having ice-creams. But what is the most annoying thing about an ice-cream? It melts too fast. When in public and having an ice-cream cone or a choco bar, you need to be really careful that you’re not dropping it, spoiling your shirt but eat it right. Ever imagined an ice-cream that would stay like it for hours together? Even if you haven’t, the Japanese have. Japan has the proud tag of coming up with one amazing invention after another and just last year Japanese scientists have come up with an ice-cream that doesn’t melt. It will stay in its form for hours together.
Scientists from Kanazawa University in Japan made an ice-cream which has a high melting point so that does not melt quickly. The ice-cream can stay in the same form at the room temperature for about three hours. We cannot imagine anyone having ice-creams for that much time, but it is not a fascinating thought? Before claiming any such thing, the makers would have to make proper testing. So to make sure that the ice-cream does not melt, hot air from a blow-dryer was blown over it but the ice-cream retained its shape. The ice-cream has polyphenyl liquid extracted from strawberries injected into it. This compound helps to solidify the cream. They mixed this compound while preparing the ice-cream. So, the ice-cream uses a very natural product. One of the professors said, “An ice cream containing this liquid will be able to retain the original shape for longer than usual and be hard to melt."
This ice-cream has different flavours available. It includes chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry. The ice-cream was made available at local shops and customers were very happy to know its new property. With all enhanced feature the taste wasn’t compromised. So while one was having the ice-cream in a hot sunny area, it felt just as cool while eating. Currently, the product is available only in Japan. But we hope it migrates to other countries soon. We can then indeed have a cool summer treat!
