The term photography has evolved so much especially in today's times and we have seen it going from a hobby to a full-fledged profession. Earlier considered to be a side job or just a mere interest, the importance of clicking pictures, documenting stories and creating content has seen a tremendous rise. History of Photography
The origin of this day lies in the early invention of photography skills. Frenchmen Louis Daguerre and Joseph Nicephore Niepce discovered the Daguerreotype, a process of making photographs. It was announced as a process by the French Academy of Sciences. On August 19, the French government purchased a patent and Francois Arago, the 25th Prime Minister of France described the process of photography. He discussed the brilliant future and announced it as a 'gift free to the world.' The earliest known permanent photograph was captured by Niepce. It is called the 'View from the Window at Le Gras.'
Although it was in the year August 19, 2010 a first global gallery was hosted where 270 photographers shared their ideas through photographs. These photographers also shared it photography means to them and people from over 100 countries visited the website, thus making it a historic moment.

The aim of celebrating this day is to get together all the photographers from around the world, share their ideas with each other. It is an encouragement for everyone out there, who loves the art, can contribute to the field.
