World Environment Day 2018: Kartik Aaryan Participates in ‘Tropicana Gift a Tree’ Initiative

Kartik Aaryan talks about the importance of saving the use of plastic, thereby creating awareness for the cause.

Every year, June 5 is recognised as World Environment Day. Theme for this year is ‘Beat Plastic Pollution and the host country for this year is India. To mark the occasion, popular beverage brand Tropicana has decided to help consumers plant trees through the ‘Tropicana Gift A Tree’ initiative. Bollywood’s youth icon and Pyaar ka Punchnama fame actor Kartik Aaryan is also a part of the effort talks about the importance of saving the use of plastic, thereby creating awareness for the cause.

As reported by Deccan Chronicle, speaking on the initiative, Kartik said, “Being a part of conserving nature is something that comes naturally in me. It is something we all have done in school, heard about it, learnt about it. I just feel if everyone does their bit, we are in a safe zone.” Further adding on brand Tropicana’s vision, he says, “It is an excellent initiative by Tropicana to gift trees back to nature. ‘Gift a Tree’ is a good way to do something for nature where the fruits come from. I share the brand’s vision of giving back to nature. Coming from a middle-class family, I was always taught to value what we have and to be environmentally responsible at a personal level. I am excited to do my small bit with Tropicana to raise awareness for the need for planting more trees for the environment.”

For every purchase of the brand on e-commerce site Grofers, they will plant a tree in Madhya Pradesh. Tropicana will plant at least 1,500 trees aimed at benefiting farmers in the Harda district of Madhya Pradesh. Tropicana Gift a Tree was initiated in 2017 with the objective of raising awareness and action for environmental protection. Over 25,000 trees were planted last year in partnership with grow-trees.com. In an interview with DNA, Kartik said, “As a responsible citizen, I am not using plastic. I’ve been planting trees on a regular basis and doing things that reduce pollution.”
