On November 27, 2017, the government of Maharashtra declared November 7 as Vidyarthi Divas or Students’ Day. On November 7, 1900, Dr BR Ambedkar entered the Government High School, currently known as Pratap Singh High School at Rajwada Chowk in Satara, in the first English standard. He studied in this school till the fourth standard, 1904.
