The best way you could spend your Valentines’ Day is not just giving cute and lovely gifts but giving your partner more quality time. While you may be caught up in your daily work routine, it is best to sneak away for a day or two and just be in each other’s company. You could make a surprise trip or make an elaborate plan together, as long as you make it a memorable one. But it is important to choose a destination which is not too common. You definitely want to go away from the city’s bustle and pollution at the same time does not have just couples swarming around you. So take a look at some of the offbeat locations you could head to with your partner.

1. Saputara: Saptura is a small hill station in Gujarat. It could be a little away, but it nestles in the Sahyadri hills and is a perfect destination if you want to avoid the crowd. You could stroll by the beautiful lake and enjoy the sunset views with your partner in tow. Being a hill station, you can definitely enjoy the dip in the temperatures here.

2. Bhandardara: If you love nature’s pristine company then you should go to this small village near Nashik. It is a government declared green zone and the best way to enjoy your stay here is to camp. You and your partner could carry a tent or the locals there do have facilities. You can set your camp around the beautiful lake and spend your time amidst nature’s bounty.

3. Lavasa: Lavasa is a beautifully planned city near Pune. You can almost take an experience of being in a small foreign town as you visit here. Away from the traffic, rush and pollution, this place combines the urban setting in a relaxed atmosphere. To reach here the most comfortable way is taking a road trip till the venue. Plus, the accommodations here are very pretty and you could take a small bungalow all for yourself. Make it a good trip cum romantic experience.

4. Silvassa: If you want a lighter feel of Goa, then you should head to Silvassa, which is 4 hours away from Mumbai. You could explore the Portuguese architecture around, although you'd miss the beaches but there are few good lakes here. But the alcohol here is at a much cheaper rate as compared to the other exotic hotels, you’d head to otherwise at other popular locations. So time for a good wine and dine, Silvassa is a good option. There is the Daman Ganga river you could head to while you are there.

5. Kolad: If you and partner love adventure, then head to Kolad, just three hours away from Mumbai! You can undertake a lot of water sports and adventure activities like white water river rafting. Not every outing needs to be a mushy, relaxed one and if you are willing to make new experiences, then try out these adventures with your partner.

So depending upon you and your partner’s preferences you could head to any of the above locations. Make your partner feel special by going a little extra mile, away from the regular destinations nearby. Give Lonavala-Khandala, Matheran and Alibaug a ditch this year and make an offbeat travel plan. Do you know of any other offbeat yet romantic destinations around Mumbai?
