Ajmer, March 18: With an aim to clear extra rush of passengers, the South Central Railway (SCR)  has announced special trains for Ajmer Urs later this month. A total of ten special trains will be run between Kacheguda-Madar Jn, Hyderabad-Ajmer, Machilipatnam-Vijayawada (Ajmer link special train) Nellore-Ajmer and H.S.Nanded-Ajmer.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday handed over the ‘Chaadar’ to be offered at Dargah of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti, Ajmer Sharif, to Minister of Minority Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi. As per reports by ANI,  the Prime Minister also conveyed greetings and best wishes to Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti’s followers across the world, on the occasion of his annual Urs. Naqvi will visit the Dargah on March 19.

Here are the ten special trains during Ajmer Urs:

  1. Kacheguda – Madar – Kacheguda Jn Special Trains (02 services):

Train No. 07129 Kacheguda - Madar Jn special train will depart Kacheguda at 23:30 hrs on 20th March, 2018 (Tuesday) and arrive Madar Jn at 11:00 hrs on Thursday. In the return direction, Train No. 07130 Madar Jn – Kacheguda special train will depart Madar Jn at 16:55 hrs on 26th March, 2018 (Monday) and arrive Kacheguda at 03:00 hrs on Wednesday.

Enroute these special trains stop at Malkajgiri, Medchal, Kamareddy, Nizamabad, Dharmabad, Mudkhed, Nanded, Purna, Basmat, Hingoli, Washim, Akola Jn, Malkapur, Burhanpur, Khandwa, Itarsi, Bhopal, Bairagarh, Sehore, Maksi, Ujjain, Ratlam, Mandasor, Nimach, Chittaurgarh, Bhilwara and Ajmer stations in both the directions.

These special trains will have Sleeper Class and Brake Van cum Luggage Coaches.

2. Hyderabad – Ajmer –Hyderabad Special Trains (02 services):

Train No. 07125 Hyderabad - Ajmer special train will depart Hyderabad at 15:15 hrs on 21st March, 2018 (Wednesday)and arrive Ajmer at 08:00 hrs on Friday.In the return direction, Train No. 07126 Ajmer- Hyderabad special train will depart Ajmer at 10:55 hrs on 26thMarch, 2018 (Monday) and arrive Hyderabad at 01:40 hrs on the next day.

Enroute these special trains stop at Secunderabad, Malkajgiri, Medchal, Kamareddy, Nizamabad, Dharmabad, Mudkhed, Nanded, Purna, Parbhani, Selu, Jalna, Aurangabad, Manmad, Bhusaval, Khandwa,Itarsi, Bhopal, Bairagarh, Sehore, Maksi, Ujjain, Ratlam, Mandasor, Nimach, Chittaurgarh and Bhilwara stations in both the directions.

These special trains will have AC II Tier, AC III Tier and Sleeper Class Coaches.

3. Machilipatnam – Vijayawada – Machilipatnam Ajmer Link Special train (02 services)

Train No. 07131 Machilipatnam – Vijayawada special train will depart Machilipatnam at 13:40 hrs on 21st March, 2018 (Wednesday) and arrive Vijayawada at 16:00 hrs on the same day.

In the return direction, Train No. 07132 Vijayawada - Machilipatnam special train will depart Vijayawada at 08:00 hrs on 29thMarch, 2018 (Thursday) and arrive Machilipatnam at 10:30 hrs on the same day. Enroute these special trains stop at Chilakapudi, Pedana and Gudivada stations in both the directions.

These special trains will have Sleeper Class Coaches, General Second Class and Brake Van cum Luggage coaches.

4.Nellore – Ajmer –Nellore Special Trains (02 services):

Train No. 07227 Nellore - Ajmer special train will depart Nellore at 11:00 hrs on 21st March, 2018 (Wednesday)and arrive Ajmer at 22:50 hrs o­n the next day. In the return direction, Train No. 07228 Ajmer - Nellore special train will depart Ajmer at 22:00 hrs on 27thMarch, 2018 (Tuesday) and arrive Nellore at 13:00 hrs o­n Thursday.

Enroute these special trains stop at Ongole, Chirala, Bapatla, Nidubrolu, Tenali, New Guntur, Vijayawada, Madhira, Khammam, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Ramagundam, Mancherial, Bellampalli, Sirpurkagaznagar, Balharshah, Chandrapur, Sevagram, Nagpur,Itarsi, Bhopal, Bairagarh, Sehore, Maksi, Ujjain, Nagda, Ratlam, Mandasor, Nimach, Chittaurgarh and Bhilwara stations in both the directions.

These special trains will have Sleeper Class, General Second Class and Brake van cum luggage Coaches.

5. H.S.Nanded – Ajmer – H.S.Nanded Special Trains (02 services):

Train No. 07641 H.S.Nanded – Ajmer special train will depart H.S.Nanded at 16:05 hrs on 21st March, 2018 (Wednesday)and arrive Ajmer at 21:25 hrs on the next day. In the return direction, Train No. 07642 Ajmer – H.S.Nanded special train will depart Ajmer at 20:05 hrs on 26thMarch, 2018 (Monday) and arrive H.S.Nanded at 01:30 hrs on Wednesday.

Enroute these special trains stop at Purna, Basmat, Hingoli, Washim, Akola, Bhusaval, Jalgaon, Nandurbar, Surat, Bharuch, Vadodara Jn, Godhra Jn, Dahod, Ratlam, Mandsor, Nimach, Chittaurgarh and Bhilwara stations in both the directions.

These special trains will have AC Chair car, Sleeper Class, General Second class and Brake Van cum Luggage Coaches.

The Urs festival is an annual festival held at Ajmer in Rajasthan. The festival commemorates the death anniversary of the Sufi saint Moinuddin Chishti, the founder of the Chishtiya Sufi order in India. The festival is held over six days and features night-long dhikr/zikr qawwali singing. The anniversary is celebrated in the seventh month of the Islamic lunar calendar. Thousands of pilgrims visit the shrine from all over India and abroad.
