London, April 21: Queen Elizabeth II, born as Elizabeth Alexandra Mary, is celebrating her 92th birthday on April 21, 2018. The Queen of the United Kingdom and other Commonwealth realms, who was born in London, has had an eventful life to say the least. She was born as the first child of the Duke and Duchess of York, King George VI and Queen Elizabeth. King George the VI was also the last emperor of India and the first head of the commonwealth. She was educated at home and was the heir presumptive from the very time her father took the throne. The future queen had also taken duties during the Second World War and married Philip, who was the Duke of Edinburgh, also the former prince of Greece and Denmark. They have four children named Charles, Anne, Andrew and Edward.

She became the Queen or female monarch in the year 1952, after her father died. Since then, she has seen a number of changes and the world as well as the world order changed in front of her eyes. She holds the record for being the longest ruling and longest lived British monarch and is also the world's longest ruling queen or female monarch. But the The Queen has been in controversy also faced criticism in her long rule, mostly for the secrecy in the Royal House. The most difficult time for her was after the death of her daughter-in-law Diana, Princess of Wales, where many blamed or accused her for Diana's passing away. But she has seen it all and has managed to remain popular even after all these years of rule.

Queen Elizabeth has seen enormous changes in the British Empire right since her birth. The mighty British Empire that once held colonies in various countries, has become the Commonwealth of Nations. She has also seen the decolonisation of many colonies in Africa. Perhaps, everything has changed since he became the Queen, except her. And that's no small feat. The Queen makes appearances occasionally on special days and event, mostly due to her old age. Britain's Prince Charles will succeed his mother Queen Elizabeth II as the Head of the Commonwealth after the heads of government agreed on his succession today, a day after the 91-year-old monarch said it was her "sincere wish" that her son would succeed her in the role "one day". Here's wishing Queen Elizabeth II a very happy birthday.
