We all miss our school lives every once in a while. In fact, as we grow up we realise those were probably the best days of our lives. And as much as our friends made it memorable, it was our class teachers who gave us some of the most important lessons in life. It is Teachers' Day on September 5, a day honouring all the teachers we have learnt from. What's more interesting about our teachers is how all of them used some typical lines and dialogues which have been heard from students irrespective of the states or a medium. Teachers’ Day 2018: 7 Inspirational Quotes to Honour Our Teachers.
Come to think of it, some of our school friends may not be in touch with us after so many years, but the dialogues by our teachers still echo in our minds. These dialogues have so many memories attached to them and we collectively felt pride when we were referred to as the 'worst batch.' Let us look at some of the most common dialogues used by our teachers. 1. "Is this a fish market?"
Every noisy class has been compared to a fish market chaos. An analogy we somehow never understood back in school days but always enjoyed nevertheless.
2. "Please be quiet, the Principal is on a round."
The bigger fear than an annoyed teacher was the principal. So whenever as a class we were out of control, a principal's round worked as a threat. Over time we knew that no the principal wasn't coming but that little threat worked for the teachers.
3. "I want pin-drop silence in the class."
The noise in the class has always been a major problem for all teachers. It was difficult to attain a complete silence in classes, what our teachers called 'pin-drop' silence. I don't think any of our teachers actually dropped a pin to check the quietness, which is why it was, even more, funnier when they expected us to be that quiet, right?
4. "Please get out of my class and talk."
Oh, why did teachers have so many problems to just let us chatter? And as students, we loved talking so much that even if it meant getting out of the class, we would still do it. Getting out of class was the ultimate punishment. How many of you have taken this punishment and walked out with your friend?
5. "You are physically present, mentally absent."
This dialogue was such a reminder to our own state of mind in classes. We would listen to a few sentences and then go into our own sweet imagination. Our teachers would exactly know we are dreaming and made us aware of it.
6. "What's so funny? Tell us the joke we will also laugh!"
We students had our own funny banter going on between the classes. The teachers' would not want to miss our important conversations, that were so important than paying attention. Our giggles have been caught and the jokes have never been shared, not in front of the entire class at least. But it is a good recall to know being picked for the stupidest jokes.
7. "You don't forget to do your food, but don't remember your homework?"
Remembering to do the homework given in class was a thing too much to ask for back then. And well, we all had the thrill of just starting and scribbling it out by the time the teacher reaches the bench to check it. But on days when we have just forgotten, our teachers ensured to remind us what we ate last night for dinner.
8. "You are the worst batch ever!"
Just as we felt proud of getting a 'star' on our class tests or 'good, very good' remarks, as we grew up, being called the worst batch ever became a compliment (scholars, please excuse). Almost every batch of students would have heard it and it was a certain satisfaction that we collectively met that standard.
Year after year, from seniors to our juniors all the batches have heard these lines being delivered at them. Today it is these lines which carry that recall value to our school memories and our favourite teachers. Our school teachers have imparted us with lessons beyond the classroom, along with these dialogues, of course. Don't forget to share them with your school friends.
