The first lunar eclipse of 2018 is set to occur on January 31. This is going to be a rare celestial event which will see the moon in three phases. This is going to be the second full moon in a calendar month hence it is called the supermoon. The moon while rotating around the earth will come in the earth's shadow and it is going to be a spectacle to watch the Astro-enthusiasts. The moon will be seen in different shades as it will pass through different phases. The partial eclipse will begin at 5.18 PM IST and end by 8.42 PM. Total eclipse will begin at 6.21 PM. The entire duration of the eclipse is 3 hours 24 minutes. But not all parts of the country will see the partial and total phases.
