Single on Valentines' Day? Here's What You Can to do to Spend Your Day of Love
The best way is to love yourself and realizing you can be your best partner.
The month of February has such lovey-dovey feels from the beginning. Couples everywhere are excited about the upcoming day of love. They are busy making gifts or deciding upon the perfect gifts to give their partners on Valentine's day. While some of your friends may ask you for help and suggestions, deep down you may feel miserable about the lack of your love-life. But worry not, you can get through the Valentine feels if you keep yourself busy in doing something more productive. You do not always need someone to make you feel special and definitely not for a day.
1. Throw a singles’ party: As much as the day is for couples, gather your single friends and organize the most fun party. You and your single friends could have a night-out plan, discuss your future plans than talking about your past, but well you can also laugh at your poor relationships. You can mock some of the typical couple things people do and feel good that you are not in that circle. Rock it as a singles’ day!
2. Treat yourself: Wanted to shop from a long time? Delaying a body massage session? How about loving yourself and enjoy the day celebrating love? Go get a good body massage and spa session and you will definitely come out feeling rejuvenated. You can then head on a shopping spree and gift yourself what you want. No more feeling left out on not getting any gifts!
3. Netflix and chill: If you are someone who does not want to go out then this is the best way to spend your day. Search for the favourite series or a movie that you’ve kept pending to watch. Make yourself some popcorn or get some chips, Netflix and chill!
4. Take your parents out: No one’s strictly said it is a day only for couples. To celebrate love, you can plan a date with your mother/father. Think about it, how many other times have you specifically taken your parent out for shopping and dinner? Or if you worry about seeing all couples, wherever you go, cook something special for your family. Trust us, the smile on their faces will be more satisfying.
5. Paint: Get out those colour crayons and sketch-pens which you have just dumped in your drawer. As we grew up, we forgot the smallest of joys, of completing a painting. Get a colouring book and face the difficult choice of choosing the right colour to fill in the borders. Colouring, painting can be very relaxing and it will be a good way to spend your time. Red, yellow, blue or green, what does Valentine mean?
6. Visit a pet daycare centre: If you are someone who loves paws and fur then indulge your Valentines day by heading to a pet-care centre. You can spend some time there taking care of the dogs and cats or just playing with the goofy ones. You will definitely leave from there with a smile and will forget all your no Valentine blues.
7. Think about what you want in your partner: As others go all out to celebrate love, you could take some time out of this day and retrospect about your relationships till now and the kind of relationships you want further. You can think about the qualities you want in your partner and by think we do not mean you feel sunken. Think logically and work towards it. Encourage yourself to find love in the next days to come.
8. Ignore the cupid, do what you want: That’s the last thing you can do is just ignore. Do not even slightly think about the existence of this day. Just do what you do regularly. Go to work, follow your routine or just sleep. Valentines’ day? What’s that?
These are some of the ways you can do spend your day if you are single. No need to create more fuss about your singlehood. Indulge in yourself, laze around or make yourself productive. The best way is to love yourself and realizing you can be your best partner.
