The month of Shravan in the Hindu calendar is dedicated to worship of Lord Shiva. The Mondays of this month are considered auspicious and devotees seek blessings and observe fasts, called the Shravan Somwar Vrat. The tradition of Vrat is important for seeking goodwill from Lord Shiva. The dates of Shravan Maas differ from region to region, depending on the lunar calendar. Shravan Maas 2018 in Southern and Central India will begin from August 12 and end on September 9. The states of Andhra Pradesh, Goa, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu will follow this calendar of the Amavasyant Lunar Calendar. Shravan Somwar Vrat Dates:

The entire month of Shravan is propitious for worshipping Shiva. Vedic rituals are performed in Shiva temples. The Mondays and Tuesdays in Shravan are dedicated to Lord Shiva and his wife Goddess Parvati.
