Shirdi, October 7: Festivities are underway at Shirdi Sai Baba Mandir to mark the 101st Punyatithi Utsav (death anniversary) of Sai Baba from October 7 to October 10. The Samadhi Mandir (temple) will remain open all night on Tuesday, October 8. "Saibaba had left his body at Shirdi 100 years ago on Dasara. It was a Tuesday too. A large number of devotees throng Shirdi Sai Baba temple to witness the grand celebrations and seek blessings of Sai Baba on Punyatithi 2019. On October 8, the programme with begin with Saibaba Kakad aarti. The Kakad Aarti (morning aarti) begins at 4:30 am and a large number of devotees take part in the bhajan which also includes holy bath of Sai Baba's idol.

On a concluding day, Thursday, Rudrabhishek Puja will be done at Gurusthan temple at 6:45 am. There will also be Shejarati at 10:30 pm. Meanwhile, there are three main festivals celebrated in Shirdi. They are Ramnavami, Guru Purnima, and Vijayadashami.
