Mumbai, May 19: During the holy month of Ramzan, the people belonging to the Muslim community duly observe the ritual of Roza (fasting). The month of Ramadan ul-Kareem began in the month of May, this year, in the Indian subcontinent. People in parts of India who sighted the crescent moon on 29th Sha’aban began their fasting on May 17. However, people who were not able to see the pleasant sighting of the moon, then, began their fasting on May 18. Read the updated Sehri & Iftar schedule for May 22 below.

The Sehri timings, on May 22, Tuesday, in Delhi will end at 03.57 am. Once the Sehri timings end, the Muslim people, who are observing fasting, are duty-bound to restrict themselves from consuming water & food. People who are observing this Roza can relieve themselves from it by breaking the fast in the evening, at dusk – the ritual which is referred as Iftari. The people in the national capital will see their Iftar timings beginning from 07.09 pm.

The Muslim community living in Mumbai will see their Sehri timings end 04.41 am, whereas their Iftari timings would begin at 07.09 pm, the same time when people in National Capital Region (NCR) will observe it.

People in the Muslim community are often preached by Islamic scholars to abide by the Sehri & Iftar timings while observing their fast. Often, it is said that those, in the Muslim community, skipping the pre-dawn meals should not skip it, as the act is considered against the principles of Sunnah.
