The name of the festival ‘Randhan Chhath’ literally means to "cooking on the sixth day," highlighting the importance of cooking on this day. The Shashthi Tithi, or the sixth day, will begin at 07:51 AM on August 24 and end at 05:30 AM on August 25. On the day of Shitala Satam, all sorts of cooking are prohibited.
